Announced formation of Rochdale Association Football Club Ltd.  Capital, £2,000.  It was formed for the purpose of running an Association football club in Rochdale, taking over the players, etc., and discharging liabilities of a former club and acquiring the lease of the ground at Willbutts.

Mr Fred Dunkerley, managing Director of the Standard Mill, Rochdale, won the King’s Cup air race at Coventry in his Miles Sparrow jet plane.  Mr Dunkerley completed the course in an average speed of 228 m.p.h.  He had been competing for the cup for eight successive years.
