On this day in History 2nd Oct 1885
Fireman James Cragg was presented with an engraved purse containing £50, by readers of The Referee, and a purse containing £76 0s. 8d. and other testimonials, for bravery displayed at a fire at Baker’s Hosiery Shop, Rochdale on August 19th.
