Huge Crowd !
Today in 1897 C.H. Kilpatrick of America and E.C. Bredin ran a 600 yards race for a £100
on the Athletic Grounds. 4,000 people were present and Bredin won by one and a half yards.
The tine was 1 minute, 13 seconds.
