OLD LOCAL MANUFACTURERS: THE ASHTONS.
In a newspaper notice at the time, it was stated in regard to Richard Ashton, who died at Limefield House, on the north side of Bury, April 19th, 1857, aged 53. He was the eldest son of Thomas Ashton of Gooden Lane, Heywood, at which place he was burn in March, 1804.
